Oyo State Governor and 2027 presidential candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), Seyi Makinde, on Thursday jumped down from the stage at his party’s South-West Presidential Campaign Town Hall Meeting in Akure, Ondo State.

In the video making the rounds, Makinde — who is contesting against fellow Yoruba sitting President Bola Tinubu — said the demands of the Presidency require significant energy, and he would focus on energy rather than make age an issue.

Then he did it. He jumped.

“So please, when they bring their own presidential candidates, let the candidates come here and also jump down. If they can do that, vote for them,” he told cheering supporters.

The crowd erupted. The clip, now trending on X, shows Makinde landing steadily and raising his hands — a clear show of physical fitness.

But in Akure, he was in full control. Bauchi Governor Bala Mohammed, who was at the same event, said: “Seyi Makinde and I are not afraid of anybody.”

Whether you think it’s stunt or strategy, one thing is clear — Makinde just told Nigerians to vote with their eyes. If your candidate can jump, vote him. If not…
