N500m Ransom Placed on Pregnant Woman Abducted in Millennium City

Bandits have reportedly demanded a ransom of N500 million for the release of a pregnant woman abducted alongside Ahmed Zakka, his wife and their six-month-old daughter in Millennium City, Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State. The development is coming days after the Zakka family regained their freedom.

The victim, identified as Jamila, was abducted on October 5, 2026, during the same invasion that saw armed men storm Alrahus Estate in Millennium City. While Zakka’s family attracted national attention after a viral video showed him pleading for help while carrying his unclothed crying baby, with kidnappers demanding N300 million, Jamila was taken in the same attack. Her husband, Abdulkadir Bello, who was away in Abuja at the time, later confirmed that the bandits contacted him with the new demand.

According to security reporter Bakatsine who has been tracking the case, the family is now in distress and appealing for urgent intervention. “Since Ahmed Zakka and his young family regained their freedom, we must also remember Jamila, the pregnant woman still being held by bandits after her abduction in Millennium City, Kaduna State,” he wrote. The N500m demand has raised fears for Jamila’s life and that of her unborn child, as her family says they cannot afford the sum.

Why is it trending? Nigerians on X are expressing anger that while one high-profile case got a tactical rescue, Jamila has been left behind. Many see her case as a symbol of forgotten victims who don’t trend enough to get attention from the ONSA tactical team. With insecurity in Kaduna worsening, the hashtag around her case is now being used to demand equal protection for all abducted citizens, not just those whose videos go viral.
